I grew up with a great love of art and language on my mom’s side and a strong interest for fantasy and science on my dad’s.
Ever since I started working as an actor at 15 I’ve had a furious will to break free and create my own destiny. As an actor you see glimpses of film making but I was always curious to get the whole perspective.
After high school I moved to Italy in order to make Great European Art but instead I got caught in a whirlwind of castings for... well, the Swedish Blonde. Rome wasn’t really the Fellini film I had in my head ; I made a living of tour guiding American tourists around the Vatican while slaving away at a weird fascist bakery. I did this until I booked a lead in a Dutch family series which made me enough money to be able to produce, direct and write my first short film in Italian. Back in Rome I flew down my favourite DP from Sweden and payed for all the Super8rolls that we needed. Then and there I understood what I really want to do in life.
All films I make are about a longing for something that is just outside of your reach. I like when there’s a gap between what you have and what you want. It’s that condition that forces us to reevaluate our lives and keep reaching forward.
